Since 2011 I have had the time and opportunity to explore my love of creating textiles and exhibiting with the SWTG. My focus is on using fleece to make felt, both using the wet and dry needling techniques. I mostly dye my own wool in vibrant colours using acid dyes.

Drawing inspiration from the natural world and the abundance of imagery from the pre-Celtic to Early Medieval world leads me to exciting exploration of books, museums, churches and nature. I am particularly interested in the way ageing and weathering has softened stone, wood and bone which I reproduce in my needle felt.

Disassembling by cutting larger pieces of felt and reassembling them by using my dyed threads, free machine stitching, hand stitching and dry needling is also a technique which fascinates me.
